Vikki Salmela knew at six, with her first gallery opening in a sauna dressing room, she was headed for a life of managing her creative talents. With two degrees in design, from FIT in New York and UW-Madison, she creates artful expressions through her company Polka Dot Studio. Her original designs are sold on a wide variety of products worldwide. Vikki has been a guest speaker and run workshops at art institutes, universities, as well as the Smithsonian art museums. She has restored old homes using her design skills and environmental and organizational knowledge.
Certified in photo managing and has the Printed Photos Specialist Certificate, her projects include professional scanning, digital archiving, photo restoration, giclee printing (archival), videos, books, albums, original photo/art memories on a variety of custom products and creative coordination for events. She has a keen design eye and enjoys custom projects of all types, with a reputation for professionalism, idea solving and meeting deadlines.
When not in the studio, she is gathering inspiration in the mountains she lives in full time.
