Carly Michael has spent her whole life surrounded by photos having grown up in her family's camera shop - the iconic michaels camera store in Melbourne's CBD. Prior to becoming a photo manager she worked as a professional photographer, photo lab technician & manager as well as a Photoshop & Lightroom trainer. She's a well-regarded public speaker, known for raising awareness of the 'Digital Dark Age' - the time period we are currently living in, which will quite possibly be forgotten in the future due to mismanagement of photos & obsolete media. In 2020 during the pandemic, Carly founded PhotoGenie and has since partnered with hundreds of clients on completing photo projects.
At PhotoGenie we work with both physical and digital photos, as well as videos. We digitise all types of physical photographic media, including slides, negatives, prints and photo albums. And we don't just digitise them, we also organise them. We are proud to deliver digitised files that are chronological and descriptive, making them searchable and accessible.
We also work with digital photos, helping our clients literally go from chaos to order. Our expertise is to gather photos from all your devices, consolidate them in one place, remove duplicates and then return them organised. We assess your tech situation and design automated backup strategies so you can be sure that your digital photos are safe. And we also provide ongoing support to our clients via our Photo Club, empowering our clients with new photo habits as well as dedicated time to finally work on creative projects, like photo books.
