 ABOUT
Bruce was employed by Eastman Kodak Company for 29 years and then was employed by Kodak Alaris for 3 years until he took early retirement in 2016. He then started his own business - Digital Scan Solutions. Bruce held a variety of increasingly responsible positions in product development, business and product management at both Eastman Kodak and Kodak Alaris. Bruce was the World Wide Product Manager for Kodak's Photo Scanning Products for the last ten years prior to his retirement from Kodak Alaris. Prior to this, he worked on systems that scanned microfilm and paper documents. Bruce grew up in Rochester, NY, home to Eastman Kodak Company and now Kodak Alaris. He helped his dad, Robert, copy valuable family photos borrowed from relatives both in the United States and Europe, to aid his dad's genealogy research. As a pre-teen and teen, he not only took thousands of photos and slides, but he also developed the film they were shot on and printed the prints in their basement darkroom. He was a member of the Kodak Explorer Post that specialized in Photography. In starting his own company, Bruce was excited to work directly with customers who had images, videos, movies that they haven’t seen in years, wanting to enjoy them once again, and to make sure they were able to be easily passed on to future generations. Bruce acquired the best equipment and software to produce the best quality product for his customers at a reasonable price. To date, Bruce has completed over 1,200 projects for his customers in the 7 years he has been in business! Bruce shares his experience from not only from 38 years in industry and 7 years running his own successful business, he became a mentor to other members of The Photo Managers to help them with their journey of photo management and is a co-facilitator of the West C Regional group of Photo Managers which hold monthly meetings amongst the members in the region to discuss various topics of interest to them. Bruce was named as a charter member of the Photo Managers Advisory Board in 2023. Bruce holds 6 U.S. patents and received the Master of Information Technologies from AIIM (Association for Image and Information Management). He has served on the AIIM International's Standards Board (1991 – 1997, 2004 - 2010) and is currently a member of The Photo Managers Advisory Board. Bruce received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y., and earlier, an A.A.S in Electrical Engineering Technology from Alfred State College, Alfred, N.Y. Bruce is active with the Alzheimer's Association and is currently their Ambassador to Representative Larsen.
